Hopkins Swimmers Head to National Meet

Over spring break, three Hopkins swimmers competed in Indianapolis at the USA Mid-West Long Course Sectional Meet.  The three swimmers were Rica Generoso ('16), Gwyneth Maloy ('17), and Erin Earley ('17).
Erin Earley advanced to the finals and earned the meets high point award for the female scoring the most individual points in the meet.  Erin’s meet highlights also include:
 
-Swimming six individual events, she earned two first place finishes, one second place, two third place, and one fourth place finish.  
 
-Her 200 meter backstroke time was the third fastest time in history for any female 14 years old or younger.
 
-Erin is now ranked 11th in the U.S. (among swimmers of any age) in the 200 meter backstroke two years away from the Olympic Trials.
 
-Erin is ranked 41st in the world (again among swimmers of any age) in that same event.
 
 
Erin has advanced to the next competition in Phoenix, Arizona, April 24-26.  She will compete against Missy Franklin, the Olympic gold medalist and world record holder in the 200 back.
