All About Upper School

What is the Upper School?

Hopkins is a hub of intellectual curiosity where motivated students, in partnership with invested educators, have many opportunities to pursue academic excellence, balanced by creative and physical activities in arts and athletics.

The Upper School at Hopkins is comprised of Middle School (9th and 10th grade) and Senior School (11th and 12th grade). In middle school, the curriculum is mostly prescriptive, whereas students gain more ability to focus or explore in senior school. By twelfth grade, students can choose from a variety of courses in many subjects, but they are still required to take English. In the Senior School, students also have the ability to explore one of our Signature Academic Programs. In compliment to the overall academic program, students are encouraged to engage in Athletics, Arts, and other extracurricular activities, including clubs and community service.
