Rania Das '26 Named U.S. Senate Youth Program Winner
Congratulations to Rania Das '26, who was named one of two U.S. Senate Youth Program winners in Connecticut.
Rania was selected for this honor based on her commitment to public service. She serves in several statewide youth leadership and policy roles, including work with Connecticut’s Juvenile Justice Policy and Oversight Committee. She also contributes to research and advocacy efforts through DataHaven and the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities. She plans to continue her studies in economics and its application in public policy.
Rania will attend a weeklong program in Washington, D.C. in March, 2026, and receive a $10,000 scholarship for college.
The United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP) is a prestigious, intensive week-long educational experience and scholarship sponsored by the United States Senate for outstanding high school students who are interested in pursuing careers in public service.
Joining Rania in representing Connecticut will be Esther Nabisere, who attends Greenwich High School.
In a recent press release, Governor Ned Lamont and Connecticut Education Commissioner Charlene M. Russell-Tucker shared their congratulations.
