Hopkins Robotics had an exciting year full of challenging competitions, exciting awards, and good friendship for their three competition teams: The Schrodinger's Goats, The RoboGoats, and The Galvanized Goats.

During March and April, the teams competed in events with their Connecticut peers. The two Hopkins teams that joined the FIRST Tech Challenge each won an award for their robot design and teamwork.

The Schrodinger's Goats team won the Judge's Choice Award and advanced to States. The RoboGoats team won the Innovate Award for their creative design which integrated a Hot Wheels track with their robot's transfer system.

The third Hopkins team, The Galvanized Goats, competed in the FIRST Robotics Challenge. During their second year of competition in this category, the team built a custom industrial robot to compete at their meets, and is now manufacturing all their parts with their new CAD skills and CNC machine in-house.

FIRST® is the world’s leading youth robotics community, delivering youth robotics competitions that inspire innovation, build confidence, and prepare young people for life. Learn more on their website.

"We are so proud of all the accomplishments of our three robotics teams this year," said Robotics Program Coordinator Lynn Connelly, "and we look forward to another exciting robotics challenge next year."
