Hilltoppers Stymied by Hornets

On Saturday, September 27th the Hopkins Hilltoppers travelled to Tarrytown, NY to face off against the Hackley Hornets.  Hackley was hosting their alumni game in front of a home crowd, and the Hornets would walk away victorious 36-12.  Hopkins got off to a tough start, unable to put many drives together in the first half and giving up three touchdowns on defense to fall into a 22-0 halftime hole.  The Hilltoppers put together better offensive drives in the second half, capitalizing on a John O ‘28 2-yard touchdown run and a 77-yard completion from Tommy C ’27 to Marcus R ‘26 to put Hopkins on the board with 12 points.  Unfortunately, it was a bit too late for the Hilltoppers to pull off the comeback against a competitive Hackley team.

Hopkins returns to New Haven next week for a Homecoming matchup versus King School on October 4th.  This should be a fun weekend with all of our teams hosting home games, and we look forward to seeing many family and friends in attendance!
