On Monday April 30th, 42 Hopkins students who study Chinese language went on a field trip to Chinatown in New York, along with four chaperones.
After enjoying an delicious dim-sum lunch, the group had a guided tour of Chinatown landmarks. Students learned the history of Chinatown, enjoyed the Columbus Park Chinese folk music played by local senior citizens and payed respect to the statue of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen. The group then visited the Mahayana Temple and attended a presentation about Buddhism. They happily ended the day by enjoying Bubble Tea.
