Hopkins girls XC wins homecoming race

On Saturday, October 7 Hopkins hosted the first varsity cross-country race since before the construction of the track, and the first homecoming meet in even longer.

Both boys and girls ran a 4k race against the Harvey School. Despite the rain, good races and a lot of fun were had by all, and it was a lot of fun for both teams to get to race and to celebrate senior day at home.

Senior captain Ava Maccaro crossed the line first in the girls' race, with junior Saki Tomita one second behind her. In the boys' race, it was junior Lucas Llovera who finished first, with senior captain Preston Parker one second behind him.

Final score:
Boys: Hopkins 15 - Harvey 50
Girls: Hopkins 15 - Harvey 50
Hopkins won both matchups.

The next race for Hopkins, both boys and girls, is at the Manhattan Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park in NYC on Saturday, October 14.
