The 2021 Cum Laude Society and Lauryn Isford '11

Twenty-nine members of the class of 2021 were inducted into the Cum Laude Society on Tuesday evening, May 25. Following an introduction by Head of School Kai Bynum, and a history of the Cum Laude Society by Dean of Academics Kristine Waters, guest speaker Lauryn Isford '11 spoke to the students and their families. The Cum Laude Society has the tradition of inviting a Cum Laude member from ten years ago to return to speak to the new inductees. Lauryn shared some of her favorite memories of Hopkins and life lessons learned on the Hill, including losing her bid for Student Council President in her senior year. She shared how these experiences prepared her for college, as well as her career in the tech industry.  Please watch the full ceremony in the video below.
