Hopkins Chess places 1st at World Tournament

Congratulations to the Hopkins Chess Team, who participated in the World Team Tournament in Parsippany, New Jersey last weekend from Feb. 16th to 18th. The two Hopkins chess teams competed with over 1300+ chess players from all ages and skill levels, including some international chess grandmasters.

The Hopkins School Maroon Team (George Wang '20, Jake Wang '20, Yoony Kim '19, and Cole Markham '20) were named the #1 High School team of the tournament, with a tournament ranking that tied with world class teams like Princeton University, Harvard University, University of Pennsylvania, and placed ahead MIT and Cornell.

The Hopkins School Grey Team (Khelan Parikh '20, Ian Dailis '20, Sarvin Bhagwager '24, and Terrence Mooney) placed first in their respective ranking section (U1000). The Grey Team also placed ahead of Cornell's chess team.
