Corwin leads Hilltoppers to Season Opening Win!

The Hilltoppers rolled to a 12-2 win over King Varsity Vikings on Wednesday at King School, powered by a huge day at the plate from Tommy Corwin ’27.

Corwin went a perfect 4-for-4, tripling in the fifth inning, singling in the first, and doubling in both the third and seventh innings.

Hopkins wasted no time taking control. In the top of the first, Rocco DeMaio III '26 led off with a triple, and Julien Turner ’28 followed with an RBI single. Tommy O’Connell '26 and Charlie Rosenthal ’28 then each doubled, helping the Hilltoppers build an early 4-0 lead. Corwin capped the inning with an RBI single.
Hopkins added to its advantage in the second when O’Connell singled to make it 5-0, then stretched the lead to 6-1 in the third on a single by Silas Kennedy '27.

The Hilltoppers were dominant on the mound as well. Zion Robinson '27 got the start, allowing two runs on six hits over three innings while striking out two and walking two. Eliot Atlee '27 was outstanding in relief, tossing four hitless innings with six strikeouts and no walks.

Hopkins finished with 17 hits in the game. Corwin, O’Connell, Kennedy, and Rosenthal each drove in two runs. DeMaio III and Turner also recorded multiple hits in the win.

The Hilltoppers return to action on Saturday when they host King.
