Hilltoppers Win with Pitching and Defense

Game Summary by Max Preps

Hopkins proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Greenwich Country Day Tigers, sneaking past 2-1. This was payback for the Hilltoppers, who suffered a 5-0 loss the last time these two teams met.
Eliot Atlee looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Hopkins' victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Rocco DeMaio III, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. DeMaio III is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another was Tommy Corwin, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Hopkins' record now sits at 5-1. As for Greenwich Country Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Hopkins will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
