On the afternoon of Friday, May 22, the Hopkins Student Council hosted its annual Field Day, bringing students of all ages together for games, treats, music, and end-of-year celebration.
Held on the final day of classes, the event transformed the Quad and surrounding athletic spaces into a lively festival atmosphere. Students enjoyed inflatables including a water slide, obstacle course, and gaga ball pit, while lawn games such as spikeball, cornhole, frisbee, and volleyball kept the attendees active throughout the afternoon.
Field Day also featured free snacks and treats for students, including snow cones, cotton candy, and chips. One of the afternoon’s most anticipated traditions—the pieing of the class presidents—drew large crowds and plenty of laughter.
A highlight of the event was the Student Council Spikeball Championship, which brought together finalists from grade-level tournaments held earlier in the week. Winners received hacky sacks and bragging rights heading into the summer.
The celebration concluded with the “Off to Summer Bash,” a series of student musical and improv performances held on the Thompson Steps. Student groups including the improv group Peaches, and bands Blue Lemonade and Too Hop to Handle.
