    Head Coach: Michael McManus

    Hopkins fields teams at the Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Junior School (7th and 8th grade) levels.  The primary goal of the coaching staff is to teach players the fundamentals of tennis, while making school spirit and team chemistry a primary focus.  Additionally, the teams focus on learning mental toughness and strategy.  The varsity team plays a highly competitive schedule, including various tournaments, against teams from Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts.

    Head Coach Mike McManus has been working with Varsity Girls Tennis since 2014.  Coach McManus was named the New Haven Register Coach of the Year in 2014, 2018, and 2023.  Coach McManus attended Notre Dame West Haven where he was an All-State player and an Academic All American.  He continued his tennis career as a scholarship member of the Division I, University of Connecticut Huskies.  Coach McManus competed as both a singles and a doubles player for the team.  Coach McManus works in the Athletics Department as the Director of Racquets.  Additionally, he is the Director of Tennis at Pine Orchard Yacht & Country Club during the summer months.
