Hopkins School is the number one private day school, according to Niche.com’s recently released 2021 rankings! Hopkins took the third spot overall in the state when factoring in boarding schools, up from fourth place in their rankings last year.
Of the top 100 schools in Connecticut, Niche concludes 38 are private schools. Twenty public high schools made the list along with 29 public elementary and 13 public middle schools.
This ranking is based on "rigorous analysis of key statistics and millions of reviews from students and parents using data from the U.S. Department of Education. Ranking factors include state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality, public school district ratings, and more," according to the Niche website.
This year Connecticut was ranked as the third best state for education in the nation by Education Week, with New Jersey and Massachusetts leading the list.
