Varsity Field Hockey Wins in OT

The Hilltoppers won 4-3 in an overtime thriller!
Hopkins traveled to St. Luke’s and played their hearts out from start to finish. St. Luke’s scored 2 goals in the first quarter. The Hilltoppers answered back when Lily Scheps passed up to Aanya Panyadahundi, who ripped a shot and scored off her own rebound. Shortly after, Daya Baum buried a shot off a pass from Ava Littman, tying the game 2-2. Hilltopper Kiersten Brennan capitalized on a penalty stroke giving Hopkins a 3-2 lead. With 2 minutes left in regulation, St. Luke’s scored to tie it up 3-3 forcing overtime. A few minutes into the 7v7 OT, Lily Scheps scored off an assist from Claire Banks & Chiu Yen Vergara giving the Hilltoppers a 4-3 league game win. Hopkins goalkeeper, Maggie Russell played an amazing game, making key saves which kept her team in the game allowing them to get the W.
