Hopkins wins opener against Salisbury

The Hopkins boys soccer team beat Salisbury 4-0 in its opening game of the season.

Thaniel Illuzzi (2022) was first on the scoresheet as he finished smartly from Michael Kluger's (2023) driven ball across the face of the goal. Kluger turned scorer later in the first half after getting on the end of a Zach Bleil throw.

In the second half, Savan Parikh (2023) volleyed home a Liam Spellacy (2022) corner. Kluger then played a long reverse pass into the path of Moustapha Gassama (2023), who chipped the keeper from close range.

Owen Lamothe (2022) made 5 saves and kept the shutout. Zach Bleil (2022), Max Gordon (2022), Elio DiMauro (2022), Parikh, and Albert Yang (2022) all played well in the back.

Hopkins opens FAA league play against Masters on Saturday. Kickoff is at 1:00.
