An Exciting Opening Day

The 364th school year kicked off on Tuesday, September 05, 2023 with an all-school assembly in the Walter Camp Athletic Center. Head of School Matt Glendinning started the festivities by welcoming everyone back to campus, especially the new students and faculty.

Student Council President Preston P. '24 spread the first day excitement with a wave. 8th grade student reps offered some helpful tips to the 7th graders in their first year. 9th grade president Walker S. ’27 welcomed new classmates and shared his excitement to be joining the high school community. Senior class president Kian A. ’24 offered some sage advice to the whole school about balance and finding joy in every day. Following announcements about the completion of a New Haven mural outside the AC by Katherine T.’24, and the news that the gym will be getting a new wood floor and bleachers later this fall, senior Silas R. ’24 delighted the community with a banjo performance of “Old Mother Flanagan.”

Watch the video below for highlights from the opening day assembly. Have a great year, everyone!
