Hopkins Shines at St. Thomas Day School Arts Week

On March 4, student musicians from Hopkins School visited St. Thomas’s Day School in the morning as part of the school’s Arts Week celebration, sharing a lively program of jazz and vocal performances with the St. Thomas community.

The Hopkins Jazz Combo—H Bop—performed “Song for My Father” by Horace Silver and “Milestones” by Miles Davis. The ensemble featured Kyle A. ’26 on drums, Gabe C. ’26 on bass, Liam T. ’26 on piano, Gemma I. ’26 on trumpet, Eliot A. ’27 on alto saxophone, Silas K. ’27 on trombone, and Matthew P. ’27 on guitar.

Vocal performances included a special return to St. Thomas for Quinby B. ’26, a St. Thomas alumnus, who performed “Lily’s Eyes” from the musical The Secret Garden alongside David S. ’26. Nia ’26 also performed an original song titled “I Just Got a Job,” which had the room clapping along.

The performance was warmly received by the audience and concluded with a standing ovation from the St. Thomas community.
