Chinese Program Celebrates National Honors Society Inductees and Honorees

On Friday, May 15, the Hopkins Chinese program hosted its annual National Chinese Honor Society (NCHS) Induction Ceremony and National Chinese Junior Scholars (NCJS) Recognition Ceremony, celebrating Hopkins students’ outstanding achievements and dedication to Chinese language and culture studies.

National Chinese Honor Society (NCHS) Inductees

Established in 1993, the NCHS recognizes accomplished high school students who demonstrate excellence in Chinese language learning, as well as strong citizenship, leadership, and community service.
This year, five Hopkins juniors were inducted into the society:
  • Oren Arbisman ’27
  • Victoria Fan ’27
  • Saisha Ghai ’27
  • Andrea Hendley ’27
  • Walker Stollenwerck ’27

National Chinese Junior Scholars (NCJS) Recognition

The NCJS program, established by the Chinese Language Association of Secondary-Elementary Schools (CLASS), recognizes middle school students for their achievements in Chinese language and culture. The program encourages lifelong learning, cultural exchange, leadership, and global citizenship.
This year’s Hopkins NCJS honorees are:
  • Lexie Andersson ’30
  • Colson Chan ’30
  • Catherine Pennington ’30
  • Adeline Zhang ’30
Modern Language Department Chair Lan Lin shared her congratulations to these students at the ceremony. 
“The Hopkins Chinese program extends its warmest congratulations to all of this year's honorees. We applaud your continued commitment to language learning, cultural understanding, and global engagement.”
