The Hopkins Drama Association (HDA) has received 16 nominations in the 2026 Halo Awards, a statewide program sponsored by Seven Angels Theatre, which recognizes excellence in high school theater across Connecticut.
This year, Hopkins submitted two productions for consideration: the winter musical “The Drowsy Chaperone” and the spring play “These Shining Lives.” Both productions were evaluated by judges from Seven Angels Theatre, who attend participating school performances throughout the season.
Hopkins will attend the awards ceremony tonight (Thursday, May 28), at the Palace Theater in Waterbury, where two students will also perform a number from The Drowsy Chaperone.

About the Halo Awards
The Halo Awards began in 1993 as a regional celebration of high school theater involving just eight schools. Since then, the program has expanded dramatically, now featuring more than 100 participating schools from across Connecticut and a four-night awards celebration held annually at the Palace Theater in Waterbury.
