Hilltoppers Prevail in Close Matchup

The Hilltoppers came out on top in a back-and-forth matchup against St. Luke's on a beautiful Friday afternoon. Hopkins fell behind early in the first half but chipped away at the Storm's lead and got themselves back into the game by halftime. The team stayed true to their game plan and found a new level of mental toughness to help them stay focused in such a close game. Ball possession proved critical in the final minutes and the Hilltoppers relied on solid fundamentals to seal the game. 

Freshman goalkeeper Violet Wich had an impressive 13 saves behind a strong defensive performance by Clara Zuse, Annabel Zuse, Jenny Alaska, and Sofia Karatzas. 

Goal scorers were Lauren Sklars (4 goals, 1 assist), Lily Scheps (3 goals, 2 assists), Marin Ciardiello (3 goals, 1 assist), Claire Banks (1 goal, 1 assist), Bella Kaplan (1 goal, 1 assist), Caroline Meury (1 goal), and Sabina Cherry (1 goal). Chiu Yen Vergara also notched an assist. 

Hopkins next heads to Greenwich Country Day School on Monday, April 11.
