Five Faculty Honored as "Women of Distinction"

On Friday, March 6, at a morning assembly,  the Hopkins community celebrated Women’s History Month by celebrating five female members of the School’s faculty.

Hosted by the student-led Feminist Coalition, the event opened with a presentation on the centuries of progress women have made towards gender equality in America. Following the history lesson, the Coalition continued the annual tradition of recognizing five "women of distinction" within the Hopkins’ faculty.

“We are here today to honor the women in our community and to highlight the contributions women have made throughout history,” said Jane W. ’27. “Through their courage and strength lies a constant reminder that progress is a gradual act formed through persistence, resilience, and unity,” she added.

This year’s honorees were Amelia Audette, English Faculty; Angela Wardlaw '84, Director of Community Engagement and Associate Director of Admission; Sarah Cussler, English Faculty; Erika Chapin, Director of College Counseling; and Lynn Connelly, Science Faculty. The assembly concluded with students and faculty members exchanging flowers in a gesture of solidarity and appreciation.
