On May 18, Dr. Hong Shang, a licensed Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner and acupuncturist, visited Hopkins Chinese classes to introduce students to Chinese medicine. She shared the basic theory behind Chinese herbal medicine and demonstrated traditional treatments, including cupping and acupuncture.
Since students are currently preparing for final exams, Dr. Shang also taught them how to make herbal sachets. Students were able to choose between a sachet for relaxation and a sachet for energy. This hands-on activity gave students a meaningful opportunity to learn about Chinese medicine while also creating something useful for their own well-being.
